Blizzard and AMD Join Hands

Posted 13th Aug 2008 02:34 AM by Leord

Freelancer just sniffed up a very interesting press release, quite well timed with the AMD Cinema 2.0 event in New York. It appears Blizzard and AMD is tying some sort of knot, and would it be blasphemous to hope we Cinema 2.0 effects WoW/SC2/D3?

Well, can’t have it all =P

I strongly doubt there will be any negative effects on Nvidia users out of this.

I’ve never fully realized this until now but I too have always used Nvidia cards in all of my systems.

I think this would do well for ATI though.

Very interesting. Sounds close to the “Made for Nvidia” campaign that Nvidia has been running. Wonder what persuaded Blizz to take thier side though? I expect it to be more of a promotional deal at Blizzcon and such rather than development help, but I wouldn’t put it past AMD, just as Nvidia do, to loan some expertise from their graphics division over to Blizzard to help optimise the game.

Oh and don’t expect Cinema 2.0 cutscenes Leord ;p Some of us don’t have the latest ATI cards for it.

Too bad for Intel and NVidia. Was to be expected though, AMD/ATI is going strong these days!
