Just a quick notice:

Blizzard Quote: (Source)
The initial allotment of tickets for BlizzCon 2009 has now been sold out. If you weren’t able to get tickets this time, you’ll have a second chance on Saturday, May 30, as another batch will go on sale then. Coverage of the gaming festival will also be offered by DIRECTV as a Pay Per View event, available both via satellite and Internet stream.

They should have sold all the tickets today and my internet browser should have been working. To compensate for the people that did not get tickets they should have released the Starcraft 2 beta. ( Well for the people that have a key anyway)

My wife is a hero! me, her and my brother tried to buy them. We clicked almost the same time around 9:59 am. She ended up being 2k something in the line and I was like 5k something in the line. She got us 3 tickets when stock was reading 60%.

Hope to see you guys at blizzcon and wish the best of luck for those who didn’t secure any, hope you can get them when the second batch goes on sale!

Woo hoo! Way to go Sayaf! I’m glad someone from Starcraft Wire got them. But like I said on obsid’s thread it just blows my freaking mind at how many people were waiting to buy these tickets. Blizzard should have like 4 or even 10 simultaneous conventions in Anaheim to sell 200,000 tickets instead of 15,000. How many tickets are Blizzard selling anyway? 20,000? 30,000?

Anyway, my last hope is the internet stream to even watch this happen. I bet even that’s going to be laggy in the first 10 minutes so much so that I won’t even be able to get on during that time! Sort of what happened last year at the WWI 2008 internet stream. That was simply awesome! They had a tournament stream and the Main Stage stream and I had both of them running on two different PC’s in the same room. When nothing was happening on one stream I would watch the other one and look at the schedual at what was happening next. Good times.

Is anyone planning on copying the whole Blizzcon stream and then upload the files of both days on Megaupload? If so then the VLC player should be good enough to do that. I know there’s better programs to do that, including using the capture card hardware, but VLC still does a decent job and it’s free as well.

The sad thing is maybe about 1/10 of the tickets are going to be scalped, many people got 5 tickets, only 3500 people got tickets, tickets were all “claimed” within 2 seconds of the queue going up, and there was a queue line of around 20,000. Blizzard really needs to expand Blizzcon, limit the amount of tickets per sale further or crack down on scalping. But I’m still gonna try on the 30th to get tickets, but I might only get in if i get a fast reaction time.

Apex you are absolutely right. Only about 3500 people got tickets and a lot of people bought five tickets to sell on ebay. Blizzard should have realized that. If they sold only two tickets max a lot more people would actually get into blizzcon without paying a small fortune to get into the convention. While me and my dad were trying to get tickets, he checked my sisters laptop about 20 minutes into the selling to see how many people were waiting and there was more than 24,000 people waiting to get a ticket. Me and my dad still did not get tickets and I was waiting four hours beforehand. This is an outrage.

I would also keep a close eye on this site in the weeks ahead. Who knows, we might actually give away some Blizzcon entry passes ourselves!

I hope when the tickets go on sale again that I manage to get two tickets because the flight and hotel is already booked and me and my dad are flying across the country to go(if we get tickets that is). I also hope that other members here that did not get tickets get tickets too. Then we can all be happy and enjoy our time at blizzcon.
