When making the latest addition to the Kalos’ Chronicles, our dear tech guru came across more than just technical specifications of graphics cards. There was also a host of never before seen screenshots from StarCraft II’s single player ‘mini-game’ that will take place between Terran missions.
AMD have obviously received a very good standing with Blizzard (more on that here), as they have published the document containing not only the graphics cards requirements, but also the first ever pictures from Hyperion’s own bar!
Jim Raynor is seen going there in the BlizzCon 2007 videos, but they never show the footage from the actual bar. Here we see Jim in the bar, looking for something large and obviously alcoholic, getting a visit from Tychus Findlay, and probably discuss something of importance. More after the jump.

Is Findlay looking for a drinking buddy, or to cheer Jim up?
Besides a few more single player shots, there are also a big bunch of graphs to describe how the technology behind StarCraft II works. While these graphs might be more advanced than most of us would understand, we can always enjoy ourselves with the actual screenshots. You can find all of the actual StarCraft II shots in Kalos’ latest Chronicle; StarCraft 2 Graphics Requirements Confirmed. If you want to look at the graphs and the actual technical documents, you can find them there as well.
So, for people who just skim through and don’t really read:
I think it’s on the Hyperion. The sign above the bar says “JOERAY’S BAR” which to me sounds like a mashing of James Raynor. Maybe it’s just me.
The the window could be looking out into space, and the ‘sunlight’ coming through it could just be because that side of the ship is facing a nearby star.
Also there appears to be a dead Zergling mounted on the wall just below that sign.

I’m glad people liked these screenshots, makes it worth finding the original SIGGRAPH 08 release.

Actually, I think it’s probably a reference to Joeyray Hall, a veteran Blizzard developer who is in charge of editing and post-production of the cinematics. The opening movie for the original Starcraft also had a character called Joeyray in it.

Oh, cool, I didn’t know that! Welcome out from the lurking btw, Whiggles =)
I’m 99.9% it’s Hyperion, as it fits in so well with the 2007 Blizzcon cinematic.
Nice, I didn’t know this. I too originally thought it had something to do with Raynor, but this makes more sense.
Blizzard’s usually pretty good with these name “easter eggs” (Max Schaefer - Schaefer’s Hammer, as an example).

Look at the environment and the actual house. It’s all metal with a ****ty blind, perhaps for the "earthly feel" or "Mar Saran feel" perhaps…
Point is, you wouldn’t make a house out of metal on a planet because it would get stupid hot. There are also metal beams in the roof that you wouldn’t need in a simple hut… I’d bet ya the sun is Mar Saran sun though, for the angst of Jim to be worse
