Um, I distinctly remember Rob Pardo saying at the WWI that they were hoping to have a Starcraft beta in the new year. That kinda implied it would not be out this year.
True, I think a 2008 release was never an option and was more wishful thinking than anything else. I’m still hoping for an ‘09 release though.

I was thinking 2009 for quite awhile myself, thought a bit about a possible December ‘08 release with early ‘09 at best. Not surprised though that it’s going to take longer. As long as it turns out awesome, they can take their sweet time on it.

Frank Pearce just went on record saying he hopes Starcraft II comes out before Diablo III, which obviously means that he is unsure.
It’s not looking good, and I’m sticking to it Q1-Q2 2010.
