Penny-Arcade Expo is over, and the results are in: Not that much new info about StarCraft 2. On the other hand lots of content. As an intro, here is a small quote from WarCry:
Stop by Blizzard again to note that the crowd for StarCraft II is as big as it ever was, and WotLK still isn’t live.
A nice little warmup to tell us what we already know… StarCraft is BIG ![]()
TVG has an interview with Bob Colayco and Frank Pearce. Short summary, so you don’t have to read it: It’s about release date (“when it’s done…”), old info about Single Player development after Multiplayer, lore importance, SC2 not planned to replace SC1/WC3, DOW3 looks cool, co-op campaign is possible (but not in shipping), possible to get SP campaign in map pack later, Activision doesn’t influence Blizzard, they probably won’t port SC2 to consoles, SC: Ghost isn’t on the radar atm (not dead), the Map Editor will be very potent, WarCraft 4 possible after SC2, depends on dev team, WarCraft the Movie: looking to assign a screenwriter and director to it right now.
Shacknews has some small pieces of already known info about MBS and the gas mechanic. for more detailed information, check out the WWI coverage we have. What is “new” is a confirmation that BlizzCon will use a new build (GC’08 used the WWI build). On a slightly more interesting note, they made an editorial on their hands-on impressions.
VE3D have a very short hands-on editorial as well.
Crunchgear gets crunched when they fail to Zerg rush. (video)
Techblog interviews Pearce, and we enjoy his very manly voice, talking about StarCraft II holding the legacy of StarCraft I, and how the CG department helps out with the new Single Player game. It’s well edited. (video)
Infamous Gameshark (they sold/sell cheat casettes with the same name, or “Pro Action Replay”) has made a preview of StarCraft II, from the PAX experience.
If you can stand the HORRIBLE choice of text colour, our friends at SC2Source (former Broodwar.de, not to be confused with StarCraft Source) has a quite interesting interview with Frank Pearce and Bob Colayco. They talk about Battle.net among other things and that the setting is rich enough for an MMO. This is by far the most interesting interview of the bunch.
There are also some minor comments from BlogCritics Gaming and Aeropause. ‘Mini’ is indeed the word though.
We are soon to be posting our own SC2 report made by our reporter player_72985, so keep a look out!
Well, he’s unusually manly for a games developer, and I can appreciate that.
The question is if HE appreciates that I appreciates that ![]()
I feel quite comfortable in my own sexuality and very girly socks =D
You mention Frank Pearce’s manly voice a few times Leord. You’re going to give him a complex
