Blizzcon 2008 Coverage >> Singleplayer facts announced

The first Blizzcon08 Starcraft 2 panel is history and it was good! As with the Blizzard World Wide invitational we recorded the panel presentation and will be posted in the near future. A listing of the key points:

Campaign 1: Wings of Liberty (Terran)
Supplement to 1: Zeratul mini campaign with “deeper storyline”
Campaign 2: Heart of the Swarm (Zerg)
Campaign 3: Legacy of the Void (Protoss)
Multiplayer with all 3 races will work without expansions.
Each campaign will have 26-32 hours of gameplay if you play it all.
The number of prerendered cinematics was not announced but our best guess is 7+ in total.
Mind you that even the in-game cinematics are better than the pre-rendered ones from SC1
Lots of voice acting
As expected: No release date was given
No news on Battle.net 2.0
Beta news: a beta seems to be in the pipeline since all attendees received a Starcraft 2 beta key.

If you have visited StarcraftWire.net before you’ve probably seen the single player shots in the sidebar. Expect more of those soon and a whole new collection of action packed in-game shots.

It looks like I get my wish for some single player updates - I particularly like the mentioning of the supplement mission with Zeratul.

I’m also excited about the beta key handout, this is all excellent news.
