That beta news made my day when I first heard it. StarCraft 2 is so close I can almost taste it. Hopefully, it’ll be out by December 2009.
Haha. you don’t have very high hopes. It should come out much sooner than that.
This is great news! I think we might be a lot closer to release, I suspect SC2 has been in internal beta for a while and this beta will be “public”; so they might release around the very end of Q1 or during Q2.
Very nice. The sooner the game comes out the better, as long as it’s finished by Blizzard’s standards though.
I’m used to waiting for Blizzard games and I’ve become accustomed to just being on forums talking about StarCraft so if it comes out this year that’s all I could hope for 
Plus, with everything going on in my life right now, time flies by pretty quickly.

@ Shayagor: It’s in Friends and Family Alpha atm. That means Closed beta soon. Just a definition, you’re basically right. =)
If beta starts in Feburary or March, add about 5 or 6 months till the release, I expect a mid summer release date, which I will take.
Like I said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the above happened, I’m just trying to set a later date and expect the worst but hope for the best After all, many people thought this game would be released in mid-2008 and December 2008 at the latest.

Now what about the collussi. They seemed to be extremely weak for their impressive size. I like what I am hearing concerning the beta and MP, both suggesting we should be expecting the beta will probably start within Q1.
