Win Beta Keys - Blizzard Theme Park Contest

Posted 24th Feb 2009 11:37 PM by Leord

This was just posted by Karune: Besides the Vespene Laughs contest where you can win Beta keys they are also starting a contest to design your own BlizzPark. The best entries can win Beta keys "and more" It's funny that they talk about a themepark for Blizzard as I recently had a discussion with friends in my office on just this topic. Perhaps there is more behind it than just a little brainstorming? Not perhaps it's all own theme park, but as a licensed corner of some other well known entertainment facility?

UPDATE!
Details are now available here!

Blizzard Theme Park Contest
What would you do if you could design the Blizzard Entertainment theme park of your dreams? Here's your chance to show us! We're inviting you to illustrate your own original Blizzard Entertainment theme park, complete with rides and attractions based on the Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft universes. The most creative and fantastic designs will receive prizes including StarCraft II beta keys, a chance to have their entry displayed at BlizzCon 2009, and more. For more information, head to the contest page or read the official rules.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the contest here.

Bashiok has also made a post about it, wich is basically the same, but with less mentioning of SC2, and there is a similar one for WoW-fans. Karune also posted it for StarCraft I as well as WarCraft III (I assume Xordiah is in bed). This is the second contest for Beta keys, and the developers use the word in their posts almost every day now. Worth noting is also that this is much more widely used (a Blizzard contest rather than SC2-specific). The SC2 Beta is truly near!

We also have our first couple of CM answers to questions about the contest:

I have no 3-D rendering software. Are you talking about illustrating a Roller Coaster Tycoon Park, or can I simply make the blueprints for the park in 2-D with detailed descriptions? I have no 3-D skill, either, so it would be futile to try to download the software.
Karune:
Use your creativity - as long as the final submission is an image, we will accept it. I'm really looking forward to seeing the submissions by the community, as is the entire team wink

"The Dropship" would be an awesome name for a roller coaster. also Maybe it could have a twin coaster called "The Scourge" that goes through the middle and barely misses it raspberry
Karune:
"The Dropship" would be an awesome free fall ride idea! Feel free to use this thread for brainstorming as well...

We'll likely see continuous updates on this, so stay tuned, and there are likely a few more contests on the horizon as well, before the SC2 Beta starts.
