A-13 Flash Grenade Launcher

The Terran A-13 Flash Grenade Launcher is a grenade launcher specially designed to throw flash grenades for either tactical illumination or the blinding of enemy units.

Background

The A-13 Flash Grenade Launcher is the only armament of the Terran Medic. Its technology was brought to the Koprulu Sector when the United Earth Directorate sent an expeditionary force to seize control of the sector. The launcher was originally designed for tactical illumination on the battlefield with a Flare, but the delivery system and the projectile have been modified to discharge a maximum burst in the visible white light and ultra-violet spectrum to harm enemies. This burst is called an Optical Flare and has the effect of severely damaging the retinas or photo-optic receptors of any targeted unit.

Game Usage

Since the Medic was pulled from StarCraft II, the unit is not available in multiplayer. However, it will probably be available to some extent in Single Player and will be a choice to add in custom mapmaking.
