Corruptor
From The StarCraft 2 Wiki
The Corruptor is the secondary air-assault unit of the Zerg after the Mutalisk. Its shots will damage enemy vessels, but instead of destroying them, the shots will infest the ship to start firing against its friends. The effect is temporary, and after the infestation the infested ship is destroyed.

Little is known about this flying, squid-like breed of the Zerg. It is clear that the creature is able to use its infesting spores to disable and take over flying units, and that they are susceptible to damage, even if they reside in a thicker carapace than most Zerg breeds.
Creatures of this breed are capable of corrupting (infesting) the flying vessels of Terran and Protoss in order to turn them against their allies, and opening fire upon themselves. The effect is only allows the vehicle to remain in the air at a stationary capacity, and the effects have only a short duration, but by the time the infestation is weeded out, the vessel will have been irreparably damaged, and is destroyed. The amount of damage that it can cause to former allies while the vessel is corrupted is frightening, so defeating these Corruptors becomes highest priority on the battlefield, even if that means the Mutalisks will have a field day with the remaining forces.
[edit] StarCraft II Unit
The Corruptor can attack units counted as air targets only, even if that included Terran buildings in Lift Off, or units/buildings caught in a Anti-Gravity field. The Corruptor will deal damage like a normal unit, but unlike normal units, it will not destroy its enemies outright. Instead it "corrupts" (infests) them and turn the against its other enemies. This ability used together with Focus Fire will turn the tide of a battle, as the enemies turn against themselves. The only way to efficiently defeat Corruptors is a large enough force that is Focus Firing the Corruptors, and then leaving their fallen comrades behind, to avoid further damage from them.
[edit] Corrupted Units
The original unit's Hit Points is the determining factor on how much time it will take to corrupt the unit
Becomes stationary air-only turrets
Corrupted units can only attack air units and will do so automatically if an air unit flies by. A ground unit affected by the Nullifier's Anti-Gravity will return to the ground but will still only be able to target air units.[3]

[edit] Development
The Corruptor was originally the first unit made from the Spire together with the Mutalisk, but has since moved around. For a while, an upgraded Hatchery could make Corruptors, when used as the primary air defence in the time periods where Hydralisks were in Tier 2. They later moved back to the Spire, where they are currently made. Dustin Browder has said that there will be more revisions to the Corruptor's "corrupting" ability.
