The Guardian is the Zerg main long-range artillery unit. It is flying but not capable of hitting air targets.

In recent time after the Brood War, the Guardian aspect of the Mutalisk has evolved further, with new abilities, and is now called Swarm Guardian, the true guardians of the Hive Cluster.
