Game Building
StarCraft 2 Building
The Reactor can be built at any Terran production facility (Barracks, Factory and Starport), providing it the additional power to build two units at the same time. Unlike add-ons from the original Starcraft, the Reactor is able to be attached to any of the aforementioned buildings.
Since only one add-on at a time is allowed to be attached to each building, with production of more advanced units requiring an attached Tech Lab instead, Terran commanders have to choose between a large amount of weaker units or fewer, more advanced ones.
Abilities
The Reactor can't use any ability.
Upgrades
Like every other Terran Building, the Reactor can be enhanced by researching the Building Armor upgrade at the Engineering Bay, which raises its armor rating by 2.
Strategies
Thanks to their ability to Lift Off, Terran production structures are able to switch add-on by redeploying where the desired one is located.
In early to mid-game, the Reactor is often used to quickly build up one's army to secure the base or preparing an early rush tactic. Thanks to the Terran's add-on macro-mechanic, you could produce high numbers of Marines and then, as soon as a Tech Lab is ready for use (at a Factory for example), Lift Off and redeploy the Barracks to that spot to start training Marauders instead, but at a slower pace.
This means Terrans have to carefully plan the way they build up their army, depending on the chosen strategy, thus emphasizing the Terran balance between quality (Protoss) and quantity (Zerg).
