StarCraft II
From The StarCraft 2 Wiki
StarCraft II is the upcoming sequel to StarCraft, should be release in mid 2010, precise date has not yet been confirmed.
What is StarCraft II?
StarCraft II is the sequel to the RTS game StarCraft, and will work in a much similar, yet updated way.
Units have been removed, new units added, and old units modified. The gameplay is similar to StarCraft, but updated and modernized.
The game has been criticised by hardcore fans to lack "micro" and "macro" features, which basically means making the game harder for non-pro players. One example is that multiple buildings now can be selected (MBS) and grouped at once, and it's near unlimited unit selection.
Other fans have thought this good however, and the game will balance the needs between the hardcore and casual players.
Terran, Zerg and Protoss are the three playable races, but the game will start differently than the original. Instead of three short campaigns, there will be three very long campaigns, and each will be on the original game, plus its two expansions. It's called the StarCraft Trilogy, and contains:
Wings of Liberty (Terran) Heart of the Swarm (Zerg) Legacy of the Void (Protoss)
Trilogy
The game will be split into three parts, one for each race, essentially one game with two expansion packs, and Battle.net functioning as such.
