Tassadar inside the Gantrithor during his final moments in the fight against the Overmind

Executor Tassadar was one of the prominent members of the Protoss and ultimately the one to sacrifice his life to save them from the Zerg Overmind when he crashed his ship Gantrithor into "it".

When the Zerg Invasion began, the High Templar Tassadar was tasked with eradicating all the infested worlds in the Terran sector. His most notable 'glassing' was of the colony of Mar Sara, where Jim Raynor was a marshal.

However, he was inclined to disobey the Conclave's orders when Sarah Kerrigan sent out psionic calls from her cocoon on Char. Tassadar was one of the ones that ventured there to see what the source was. There, he encountered Jim Raynor, where they formed an alliance. When the Dark Templar Zeratul also came to the call, they formed a friendship and Tassadar learned how to use the energies of the Void. Zeratul slew the Cerebrate Zasz, though he accidentally revealed Aiur's location to the Overmind.

Back on Aiur, Tassadar was branded as a traitor. However, his allies freed him and slew two more cerebrates, causing the Conclave to accept Tassadar was right about the Dark Templar. The combined Terran and Protoss forces destroyed the Overmind's outer shell. Tassadar channeled the energies of the Khala and the Void, and crashed his Carrier Gantrithor into the Overmind, destroying them both. However, this led the way for Kerrigan's ascension to lord of the Swarm and the Brood War.

Tassadar is one of the Protoss' most honored heroes. Some have taken to saying 'En Taro Tassadar' in the same way as 'En Taro Adun' or the earlier 'En Taro Khas'.
