Introduced around 2499, the Wraith was implemented in space battles where many conflicts involved capital ships and smaller gunships. The Wraith fit perfectly as a small, dynamic high-speed fighter capable of dealing significant damage to larger ships while evading defensive fire. The Wraith is armed with both air-to-air missiles and a versatile burst laser for ground attacks, and is equipped with the latest in ECM and Stealth technology. When first launched, requirements to pilot one of these crafts was to be a Certified Confederate Combat Pilot.[1]

[edit] Game Unit

The Wraith is one of the cornerstones in the Terran armies before Brood War. Despite being taken out of service for the most part by the Terran Dominion, they are still used by freelancer milita, like Raynor's Raiders.

[edit] Development

The Wraith has been in screenshots from very early alpha pictures of StarCraft I, but is not part of the multiplayer lineup for StarCraft II. However, they will likely be available in Single Player mode. [2]
